Source: About 6 months ago I had been shopping for rabbits but wound up looking at snakes as it is illegal to have a pet bunny in Vegas? Go figure. -Also had watched the last Harry Potter movie the night before.

I had a pet snake and its tank had been destroyed somehow. I am in my kitchen; the energy is a heightened, active one at that moment as if a bomb had just exploded in my oven. Upon reflection, I don't remember seeing any evidence of what had actually occurred but it was sudden and alarming. I need to quickly place my snake baby in something temporarily because the tank was now broken and useless. For obvious reasons I didn't want to just let it loose with nothing to house it in, not knowing where it had wondered off to later- it is a snake.

I admit, the briefly fleeting thought of my snake baby terrorizing the other tenants after climbing into the vents and thoroughly exploring the joint brought upon me a giggle. The more likelihood that it would kill somebody's pet, starve to death, get too cold or get itself killed upon discovery by the WRONG one was more prominently displeasing to realize immediately after. I love my snake baby, I want it to to feel comfortable living with me and somehow its home just got suddenly dismantled.

As I frantically shuffle through my kitchen cabinets trying to figure out will would work best, I have a grasp of my snake in my right hand in a firm grip about 6 inches from its head. I ordinarily only have to just have to hold it, not actively grip it with control but I could feel it flexing and writhing trying to get free from me. I'm at this point unsure if it was something directly related to its tank being fucked up, but my snake baby was visually upset and now actively trying to bite me. ActiVEly trying: it was PISSED as if I had just a moment before confessed that I killed its best mate or something and laughed in its face at the thought. It thrashed and coiled and hissed at me trying to figure out how to get loose enough to bite me- this fucker was stronger than it looked. I'm literally throwing stuff around in my kitchen trying to fund something safe to put it in, mildly hurt it felt so upset at me fighting it to hold onto it. This is a safe space my snake baby, let me hold you.

I had to ReaLly grip it into the little submission I had control over. As I'm holding it, it starts flexing harder, apparently shedding its skin but at what I thought was an unusually rapid rate. Even worse, to my horror it was shedding it's actual skin- not just the old filmy layer they usually dispose of. I had to use both hands now to try and hold onto it as it thrashed. It peeled off the thick layer of skin to the floor while continuously trying to bite, only now it was now slightly smaller, suddenly skinless and slimy.

That visual was really creepy to me because i could see all of it's muscles and veins and organs and blood behind this pale white membrane (basically a translucent snake). Sounds cool I suppose, but it was bleeding a bit and sticky so my grip on its throat had to become even tighter with it being more slippery and slimy to grasp. I use some strength but I don't want to choke it to death even though it's trying to bite me, I love my snake baby. I feel so terribly because I just want to put it down so it can feel okay and settle down but i can't find anything sufficient enough to place it in beyond plastic food containers and I can't THINK. I grab one and try to make my volatile snake baby fit in there- just as a quick fix until I can something better and rush to the store.

I feel extra terrible because I cannot explain in any way to my snake baby that I love it so much and I'm trying my best to fix what has happened! It doesn't care anyway because... it's a snake. I find a suitable sized container and try to unwind it with my left hand, all while it's still angrily trying to bite me. I had started attempts to loosen it into the container so I can hastily free myself and get the lid on. As I'm trying to get it loose from my wrist and arm, I notice an alarming detail that I wasn't expecting to see.

I noticed that when its flesh touched the container, it fused to the plastic and ripped off of its body leaving a bloody, wet wound in its place. This painful new abuse makes it even more angry, somehow finding a new source of strength to lash violently at me; snapping, hissing, scrEAMing at me while I maintained my firm grip on its neck trying to control over its movements. It almost gets the better of me at one point half biting into my hand, a result of my hand position having slipped lower on this slimy, squishy, suddenly skinless, now bleeding, muscle ridden body.

I can't even focus on getting a container to put it in anymore because it has currently become ME vs. SNAKE since my snake baby wanted to BITE now. This development had the immediate effect of pissing ME off after being startled by the partial completion of the half-bite before I stopped it. In my anger I finally showed my true strength pulling it mercilessly off of my entire arm with my left hand in one grab. In my frustration I adjust a new control grip with my right hand about 3 inches lower than its mouth. On the crown of its head by its eyes, I notice one of its new bleeding wounds making my lower grip slightly loosened from the wet blood. Ew.

I just wanted it to stop trying to bite me so I tried to grab its head with my left hand to restrict its vision and jaw but instead I had popped its head like a water balloon. I'm surprised by this result and by the remaining empty skin left hanging, dripping blood. The rest of its muscly body finally went limp too, loosening it's prior grip on my arm into my hand like a wet noodle. Immediate heart break as I calm enough to survey the mess I've made of my snake baby.
